VANI Freight

VANI specializes in providing ocean freight logistics around the globe.

Depending on your needs and timeframe we can arrange the shipping by several methods, choosing the best appropriate option for your particular cargo.

VANI group previews and helps the planning of the future move in order to avoid unnecessary expenses, demurrage fees, late penalties, etc.

These are the types of freight moved by ocean:
--- LCL Less-Container-Load
--- FCL Full-Container-Load
--- Ro-Ro Roll-On Roll-Off
--- Lo-Lo Lift-On Lift-Off
--- Breakbulk
--- Heavy Lift Project Cargo

LCL (Less-Container-Load) refers to any kind of shipment from a few boxes to a few pallets or crates, that are small and can not fill up the loading capacity of the container.

There are two options to handle the shipments of such medium size, - either by air or in an ocean container. Now this can be tricky, as in some cases the shipping cost in both ways can be almost the same. So the shipment has to be slightly heavier, slightly bigger to make the LCL prices much more effective, and yet be less than a container load.

The advantage of shipping your freight is that it is economical.

The disadvantages are that the shipment will never be absolutely secured from the damages caused by other partial loads, and it can be an inappropriate combination of two or more types of cargo inside of the container, as one cargo can be more fragile than another, each cargo has unique handling requirements.

Another disadvantage is in documentation formalities of Import Customs in certain countries, when the whole consolidated container can not be released until every consignee has cleared their portion. This can lead you to paying storage fees which should always be avoided.

FCL (Full-Container-Load) is the most convenient way of transporting the goods, whether it is commercial cargo or personal belongings.

You will be surprised to know how many different kinds of goods can be transported as FCL, anything from palletized boxes of brand new merchandise, automobiles, machinery, household goods to raw materials, like shredded scrap metal. And, of course, this involves a variety of loading experience and technical knowledge.

You can either borrow the container from the carrier with timeframe restrictions or purchase your own (SOC Shipper-Owned-Container), and arrange the loading with whatever time pace is suitable for you. The transportation of shipping SOC usually applies an extra fee of approximately $500.

Ro-Ro (Roll-On Roll-Off) is appropriate for transporting automobiles, agricultural, construction and other machinery that is towable and can be rolled on to a ship and rolled off from the ship.

When the shipper delivers the machinery that has been prebooked and preregistered, it is the shipper's responsibility for any change of shipment details differing from the first received, and any payable adjustments will be automatically added to the final cost of shipping to the shipper's account.

Please be very precise and very careful when it comes to Ro-Ro shipping, as a small change of freight can noticeably change the estimated cost of shipping and handling.

Any extending parts of the equipment which the shipper did not take into account when taking measurements of the units, will be charged for by the capacity it takes up on the vessel.

Lo-Lo (Lift-On Lift-Off) vessels are equipped to carry a wide range of freight. This type of transportation is being used less since Ro-Ro was developed.
The onboard cranes allow the Lo-Lo type ships to load and unload the cargo at Ro-Ro and other unserviced ports.

Breakbulk Cargo is loose material that has to be loaded individually. It is a very sensitive form of shipping and it requires a significant amount of labor as well as a lot of space on a ship and in storing facilities, as it can not be stacked very high, unlike the containers.

Breakbulk Cargo can be any type of non-containerized, general cargo that is stowed into bags, bales, barrels, drums, cardboard boxes, paper reels, wooden crates, pallets, etc. and shipped in bigger amounts.

All of the mentioned stowing tares have to be waterproof and safely sealed. The tares have to be clean of stains or oil and be in good condition to go on the ship.

Depending on the nature of breakbulk material, in some cases the trucks have to bring the load straight onto a ship, without going through the storage area.

The easy access to the break bulk goods increases the risks of theft and damage. By containerizing the merchandise, that is considered, what is called - the attaractive shipment, like electronics, cigarettes, spare parts, construction materials and more, the possibility of losses can be reduced.

Some breakbulk ships can transport Bulk cargo which can be dry, like grains, or liquid, like oil. Containerising of bulk shipment can turn out to be a very expensive move and hard to arrange if a big amount of containers are needed.

Heavy Lift operators in our company have exceptional experience to forward any oversized or overweight shipment. Following their knowledge of procedure to handle project shipments, they arrange crane lift work, trucking relocation, positioning of units onto foundation among all other operational activities.

The heavy lift shipment refers to any type of cargo that exceeds the loading capacity of an ocean container by its weight and size.

Some shipments can be disassembled to ease the handling, but the purpose of the heavy lift move is to avoid any dismantling works. When the parts are seperated from the main unit, in common practice these parts load a standard 40' container and go together with the oversized main body of the shipment.

The possibilities to have transit points have to be avoided with this type of cargo. And all receiving ports and docks have to be prepared with the available space and equipment needed to accept it.
